Reflection - In this unit, I learned that imperialism happened all around the world and some of them were really bad to other countries. I found it interesting that all the countries were taken over by one country and that is Europe but some countries copied Europe and took over some other countries. I can connect what I have learned in class to Science because the Europeans invented useful things that help them in everyday life. What surprised me in this unit was that when the countries were ruled, Europeans used the people in that country as slaves. One concept that I am still having difficulty with is the communication of my essays. One skill or learning strategy I found useful was the topic sentence, fact, opinion, fact, opinion, and concluding sentence sheet
.
Early Economic Globalization - Mercantilism led to capitalism because of the payment the business gets from the monarch is very small so they wanted to earn more money and this is how it led to capitalism. It led to also more industries which is industrialization or the occurrence when the major economic activity of a country shifts from agriculture to manufacturing. This led to imperialism eventually because the Europeans needed more resources so they industrialized other countries that are weaker than theirs and they took them over.
Impacts of Imperialism - This source motivates people because soap shows the Europeans view of authority to civilize other people of the world. This was in the Scramble for Africa. The Scramble for Africa is when Europeans resulted in activity and addition of African colonies by European power at the time of the imperialism period.
Legacy of Imperialism in Canada - In this source, we are going to talk about the legacy that imperialism left in Canada. An example of what they left behind in Canada would be residential schools to segregate the Aboriginals to the whites. This shows that Europeans were racist to Aboriginals. This also shows that residential schools were for Aboriginals because they need to be taught European English. Another example for the source would be the churches they set up in Canada. This was set up so they can Christianize the natives. This shows that Natives wanted to be Christianized because they weren't Christians. This also shows that The Natives wanted to get rid of their culture and went with being a Christian. Therefore, to be clear two legacy that was left behind in Canada would be residential schools and churches.
Connection to Globalization - I have learned about mercantilism, capitalism, industrialization, and imperialism. I did a project about a country in Africa and had to explain about its lifestyle before and after imperialism. I also learned about imperialism around the world and residential schools in Canada. After all the negative effects and positive effects of imperialism, we now work together and help out countries that are now in need of our assistance.

Uganda
We are doing a research project about the countries that we were given and what imperialism has shaped to this day and also the information we have about our countries.
Two facts that I know about the country of Uganda is that their favourite dish is mashed bananas and that most of the Ugandans are Christians.
